The prison milieu

 
The Katajanokka prison building, protected by the National Board of Antiquities, forms a unique setting for a hotel visit. The old prison cells have undergone a thorough transformation. By uniting two or three cells and adding a modern interior design, 106 high-class hotel rooms with all the modern conveniences have been created. The most authentic prison atmosphere can be found in the Jailbird restaurant in the basement floor. Only a few short steps, and you are out in the sunny and verdant Linnanpuisto park.

The park

The terrace that will open in June will be ideal for hungry and thirsty sun-worshippers. The park is a safe and fun place for children to play, with no need to fear cars or getting lost. You can experience the sea wind and salt water by taking a walk around the Katajanokka and Market Square area or touring the extensive archipelago near Helsinki.
